Rambles and Rappers (The Dying Logs Day 11)

Despite backing up videos in multiple places I lost one. It was about art and my novella. Disappointing.

Maybe I’ll make another video on the that topic right now for tomorrow.

Anyways been experimenting with stream of consciousness so here’s a long and ramble video? Terrible or with merit? Any advice to improve? Email me.

Also somehow I messed up the ending so it just cuts at the end. It wasn’t a mistake it was art. You peons can’t understand. Man I need to. Get better lol.

In tune with the rambling of this post, I’m going to write about something fun.

Top ten rappers. Not rap artists so no Ye and Lauren Hill.

1. Biggie

If you could chose a guest verse from any rapper dead or alive you’d chose Biggie. The MJ of rap.

2. Nas

If you include the lost tapes Nad made three masterpieces in a row then proceeded to kill it project after project. A level above Jay IMO

3. Lil Wayne

I could listen to Wayne rap for 4 hours straight at his peak. So damn good it’s almost hard to believe his human.

4. Eminem

Every song Eminem touches becomes his song. He combines insane ability with truly unique and powerful song concepts.

5. MF Doom

Genius. Interestingly he took pretty much the opposite of Eminem in that he usually isn’t revealing much about his personal life. Captivating like no one else. Purists hanging on to every word.

6. Kendrick Lamar

He would be higher if this list was focused more so on projects than skill. Nevertheless he’s so amazing we almost don’t deserve him. One more masterpiece that really dives full on into his ability rather than a concept and he’ll be ranked 4 at minimum.

7. Ghostface Killa

Maybe the greatest story teller in hip hop. So much passion behind his verses. A true artist. No gimmicks either. He can just rap his ass off and there’s often substance behind the lyrics

8. Jay Z

Jay is a genius. I know I’m pissing people off placing him farther down my top ten. I absolutely love Jay Z and he is truly one of a kind.

9. Rakim

How many times will I listen to Rakims body of work? It never gets old and it holds up as well as a Chaplin film holds up.

10. Ice Cube

NWA, solo work. Classic after classic. Is he better than a Black Thought or Andre 3000. And the biggest elephant in the room, 2Pac (who of course I love). Very hard for me to say but for right now he barely clutches the 10th spot.

I hate asking for money, but I've fallen on hard times and can't support myself. If you are interested, my brother has created a Gofundme.
